A revamped hot water spa and resort on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation plans to reopen its doors to the public on Thursday.
Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort reopens six years after it closed due to financial constraints. The renovation project was a joint effort by the Warm Springs Economic Development Corporation and Mt. Hood Skibowl.
The $13.1 million renovation was delayed a year due to strong storms in May 2023 that caused significant damage to the property. Bookings for overnight accommodations started Wednesday.
Visitors to Kah-Nee-Ta can purchase day passes valid between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Overnight guests can use the facilities between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Day passes are $29 on weekdays or $39 on weekends if purchased . If purchased on-site, the prices are $32 on weekdays and $43 on weekends.
The property features 30 pools, including hot springs and mineral wellness pools, cold plunges and soaking tubs. Other activities include mini golf, boccie-ball courses, pingpong and bike trails. Horseback riding and 3-mile river floats begin in August.
In addition to lodging in the remodeled hotel, the facility also offers 70 RV parking spots with restrooms, showers and self-serve laundry. Stays are also available in one of 20 new teepees that stand 30 feet tall and 27 feet in diameter.

Kah-Nee-Ta, located about 8 miles northeast of Warm Springs on the Warm Springs River, closed in 2018, laying off 146 employees. It had been operated by the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs since 1961.
