A man driving a van through Sisters crashed into a 72-year-old woman crossing the street Tuesday evening.

The woman and her husband, who are from Beaverton, were crossing E. Cascade Avenue at N. Spruce Street near the heart of Sisters around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday when a 2015 Dodge Ram Pro Master City van struck the woman, Lt. Chad Davis, a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said in a news release. The woman’s husband was carrying an orange pedestrian flag, which is a safety measure used at busy intersections like Cascade Avenue, Davis said.
