Noemi Arellano-Summer is schools, youth and families reporter at
the ÅÝֱܽ²¥. She previously reported on homelessness and the 2020
eviction moratorium with the Howard Center of Investigative
Journalism through Boston University. She was raised in Long Beach,
California, where she started her journalism career reporting for
her high school newspaper. In her free time, she can be found
meandering through a bookstore or writing short stories.
Bend-La Pine Schools will host two events for people interested in becoming bus drivers for the district. The starting wage is $28 an hour.
The first event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and the second from 10 a.m. to noon on June 8. Both events will be at the Bend-La Pine Schools Transportation Facility, 501 SE Second St., in Bend.
The district will provide paid training for new hires who want to obtain or renew their commercial driver’s license.
