Council meeting

A view from the Bend City Council meeting on April 22.

With four of the six seats on the Bend City Council up for grabs this election cycle, the city opened the filing period Wednesday for candidates to ink a spot on the November ballot.

Council hopefuls have until Aug. 27 to complete three steps to become candidates, including gathering 150 signatures via a nomination petition approved by the city recorder's office. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, age 18 or older, registered voters and Bend residents for at least one year prior to Nov. 5.
