Rappel certification in the Deschutes National Forest will result in heavy helicopter activity west of Bend starting April 17 and continuing into next week.

During the training days, the public can expect up to five helicopters hovering in the air west of Forest Road 41 and south of the Cascades Lake Highway. The helicopter activity may occur at any time between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., including weekends.
