U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, R-Happy Valley, seen here in September, announced Thursday that she will seek reelection to Congress.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer announced Thursday that she will run for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, which includes much of Bend and Redmond.

Chavez-DeRemer was elected to a two-year term after a tight race in 2022. Her win made her the first Republican woman to represent Oregon in the U.S. House and helped tip the chamber to Republican control.
