Noemi Arellano-Summer is schools, youth and families reporter at

eviction moratorium with the Howard Center of Investigative
Journalism through Boston University. She was raised in Long Beach,
California, where she started her journalism career reporting for
her high school newspaper. In her free time, she can be found
meandering through a bookstore or writing short stories.
Dan Emerson has been hired as the new chief financial officer for Bend-La Pine Schools. He will start July 1.
The current chief financial officer, Brad Henry, is leaving to take a job in another district. The role oversees all aspects of financial operations in the district.
Emerson has seven years of financial experience in the public sector, including two years in his current role as budget and financial planning manager for Deschutes County.Â
Emerson attended Bend-La Pine Schools as a student and graduated in 2006.
