“With your help, we will stickâ€. How can we help?

This certainly grabbed my attention this morning.

The Bend ÅÝֱܽ²¥ has played such an important role in educating the residents of Central Oregon and beyond. The newspaper has been key to helping us as citizens be aware of what is important and all the events that are taking place around us. Most importantly it is a local source of news that helps to create a shared culture. A source of pride for all residents.

The quality of journalism at the Bend ÅÝֱܽ²¥ surpasses many newspapers, even some of the larger well funded organizations. Adaptive changes to news delivery, including digital delivery, is a must for any regional newspaper and the BB has taken steps to address that.

How do we bring attention to this in a way that everyone in the city understands the opportunity to better support our newspaper? Both subscribers and advertisers. We simply cannot afford to lose the Bend ÅÝֱܽ²¥. Is there a way to develop a campaign of sorts, one that draws attention including billboards that might simply say, "Save the Bend ÅÝֱܽ²¥"? I believe that if everyone in the city was aware of this article and the situation, we would see a groundswell start to take shape. Let's bring our best minds and thinking together to support the Bend ÅÝֱܽ²¥ as it successfully navigates it's evolution as a newspaper.
